1. OAK - Polish Quercus robur - A.D. 720 kg/m3

Yellowish brown. Generally straight grain but varying with growth condition. Durable heartwood used for furniture, flooring, interior and exterior joinery. Lower grades used for fencing and gates.

This is our grades specification for oak:

Prime: 4 sides clear, max. 15mm sound knots allowed, no sap, no yellow stain, no heartwood.

Character: 3 sides clear, max. 15mm sound knots allowed, on one face unlimited healthy knots allowed, sporadic sap on corners allowed, no yellow stain, no heartwood.

Rustic: unlimited sound knots allowed, black knots up to 10mm allowed, sap on the corners allowed, no heartwood, no yellow stain.

All our Oak products are FSC Certified. FSC Oak logs are provided also by Polish Forest Organization to Polish sawmills.

Oak processing / machined oak:

We can plane our Oak timber on modern Wenig machines according to requirement.

2. BEECH - Polish Fagus sylvatica - A.D. 720 kg/m3

Pale pink-brown heartwood turning to reddish-brown if steamed. Large movement in service and perishable but has vast range of uses including cabinet making, high-class joinery, furniture, chair making, tool handles, turnery and musical instruments.

This is our grades specification for beech:

Prime: 4 sides clear, no knots, no brown kern, no color variation.

Character: 3 sides clear, on one face 20mm healthy knots allowed, sporadic sound brown kern allowed

Rustic: unlimited sound knots allowed, black knots up to 10mm allowed, color is not a defect.

3. BIRCH European - Betula pendula

Other common names: birch, silver birch, warty birch.
Distribution: Grows throughout Europe.
Timber Properties : Straight grained and fine textured with creamy white to pale brown wood (no demarcation between heartwood and sapwood). Fairly heavy with moderate strength, stiffness, stability, and shock resistance properties. Steam bending often impacted by knots and irregular grain.

Working Characteristics:

Works easily although wood tends to be woolly - reduced cutter angle often recommended. Requires pre-drilling for screwing or nailing. Glues, stains, and finishes quite well. An excellent turnery wood. used for bobbins, spools, dowels, miscellaneous woodenware, brushes, brooms, framing, interior joinery, furniture, and veneer.

3. ASH European - Fraxinus Exelcior

The ash, which is a light-coloured and widespread species, with satisfactory qualities, has become an essential variety for slicing. Indistinct cambium. Perfect wood creamy white. Medium grain. Veneers. Furniture. Interior joinery. Sports items. 680kg/m3
